as of late.

life has been a little crazy busy as of late. here is just a little recap.
baby shower for four of the eight girls who are currently with child in our lovely little dietetics program.  here are four of the beautiful mothers-to-be... [victoria, amy, dani, andrea]

it was a grand ol' time for everyone involved.

the roomies and i decided to make a shrine on our wall for all our wonderful friends who have entered into matrimony recently (basically any invitation we've received in the last year). don't even worry only four of those invitations are not mine. yeah.

studied, studied, studied for finals. calculated my grades to see just how poorly i could do on each of my finals and still get decent grades...then watched a lot of gilmore girls.
pre-finals face...

post-finals face...
un-pictured...much happier.

precious christmas party with the roommates. only took one picture of our four chritmas trees but we had a fun little gift exchange and went to dinner as a finals-are-over celebration/last hurrah before the break.

so so happy to be home with the fam for christmas. i may never go back to provo [i wish].

rise and shout...?

i got an all-sports pass this year. first time ever.  i must admit i'm a fair weather fan (and secretly cheer for the u when we play them-be proud dad) but it's been fun to go to the games and show some school spirit. mick even came to one of the games with me...

in other news. i registered for classes for the last. time. ever. yes, i'm officially gradating in april. no more saturday's spent doing this...
although you must admit, it is legit. (rhyming intentional)

i'll be the first to admit (apparently i like that word. a lot.) that i've spent a good amount of time wishing to leave provo...and byu. i just feel it's time to move on.  and though i won't miss homework, or the freezing hike up to campus in the winter, or the stress i feel every time i enter the testing center... i did have a little moment walking up to campus the other day when i realized "wow, i'm really lucky to be able to go to school in such a beautiful place."  i really am so blessed to be able to attend byu.  it's a great school and i've learned a lot. both about myself and dietetics (sometimes more than i'd even care to know actually).  i may just miss this place after all. at least a little.

one year older and wiser too.

my grandma turned the big 9-0.  yes, the dear woman is NINETY.  i can't believe it. while she may not know what day it is or even that she's at her own birthday party, she is still the sweetest lady in the world and i love her to pieces. just a few photo's of the big b-day bash.
...notice the creepy little boy's head sticking out out of the top of g-ma's. awkward...
could she be any more precious? i mean really...
looks good eh? food poisoning...pretty sure that happened

ended the weekend with a little visit to this place.
was it just me or was conference exceptionally good this time around? okay, it's always great. but something about this time. i just loved it. the church is true! that's all there is to it.

well hope your weekend was as good as mine.

i'm a slow bleeder.

this is what i do at school...
okay, so you can't really tell but i am pricking my finger to test my blood glucose levels.  this is the first prick of seven. apparently i'm a very slow bleeder.  it was a struggle to get enough blood to even do the test. last time i gave blood they almost couldn't use it because it was taking too long and apparently you only get 20 minutes before they reject your blood.  not on my watch! literally... (p.s. i don't have diabetes in case you were worried...)

sometimes i love being a dietetics major.
oh school. it's a love/hate relationship. senioritis has already set in. only seven more months...

oh sister.

"the scary thing about BYU is that all the normal looking people are weird, and all the weird looking people...are weird."

(disclaimer: i, myself, am actually a current student at BYU, hence the reason i feel perfectly okay about posting this)

maybe i swam with sharks yesterday...

yes. it's true. i did in fact swim with sharks and stingrays yesterday.

so...it's vacation time. after almost three months of hard work we are on vacation in this place...

friday morning we took the water taxi out to caye caulker and will be staying here for three days. tomorrow morning we're headed to san pedro for two more days until wednesday morning when we fly back to the states!

yesterday we went on an all day snorkling tour. we got to enjoy an entire day on a sail boat and took three stops along the way to get out an snorkel. the second stop: shark ray alley! yes...we swam with sharks and string rays...

i jumped in the the water with those things!
yeah.

i have to admit something...they were only nurse sharks. which means they are bottom feeders so they weren't tempted to eat us. but it was still pretty crazy. our guide caught some of the sharks and stingrays and let us pet them. it was one of the coolest things i've ever done! on our last stop we saw turtles, eels, an a bunch of crazy fish.

i'm in love with this place...

i may become a kidnapper

my big project this summer (aka team lead for...): succotz summer camp

we did a summer camp at the succotz primary (aka elementary) school last week and it was so. much. fun. the kids were adorable and really well behaved.  we had a morning and an afternoon session and the camp ran monday through friday.  we had probably about 80-90 kids total and we had so much fun with them. we did arts and crafts, reading activities, and games.  their favorites were definitely the arts and crafts and the water balloon games.

in conclusion, i may become a kidnapper because...these kids are just too cute.

above picture - top right: meet gliss. he was the most adorable little boy. ever. every day he would tell me all these random facts about spiders and when he left the last day he came up to me..."miss, one more fact about spiders?...they can carry 50 times their weight on their back. most people don't know that but they can!" yes gliss, i am kidnapping you...you'll like the states. i promise.

meet alex and aden. brothers, and too precious for words. they couldn't really speak english...but i tried. i do have pretty great hand gesture skills though, enough to get by...
last day of camp...i'm sure going to miss these little ones. so much.
