it's official.

it really is. official.

got my acceptance letter (slash e-mail). i am going to...[drum-roll please]...BELIZE this spring.

what will i do there you ask. good question. i will teach nutrition classes. teach square food gardening. and volunteer in the orphanages. among other things. and  i could not be more excited. i'm going with my most amazing friend kayla (also in the dietetics program) and it is going to be great. i've never done anything like this before but i've always wanted to, and finally have the chance. can't even wait. this next semester cannot go by fast enough.

4 more months until...

okay...so maybe my accommodations won't be quite as pictured.
but it's still going to be the fabulous.

maybe i only have one final left (and maybe i've been putting it off because it's my most difficult one)

maybe i got a 95% on my food production management final yesterday and the testing center screen told me "congratulations"

maybe i get to go home for christmas in only two more days. oh happy day.

a much needed break.

this past weekend paige and i went down to st. g and met up with jen and lacy and some other friends.  we rode dirt bikes...which i learned i'm not very good at [see picture below]...and four wheelers, cruised in the jeep, ate lots of food, watched lots of movies, slept in, and relaxed.  it was a much needed weekend away.  jen and lacy are always inviting us to go on fun adventures with them. thanks girls for the awesome trip!
 i want a jeep. i want a jeep. i want a jeep.
i'm really good at dirt biking...
(that is blood in case you can't tell and it WAS worse than this pictures makes it look. true story.)
p. hard core.

 so. much. fun.

ALSO...
"it's funny when you think about the reason you're alive is all because two people fell in love"

i've been thinking about these two people a lot lately and how grateful/lucky/blessed i am to have such amazing parents.  i don't know what i did to deserve it, but lucky me.  they're kind of awesome.

as a side note...the semester is almost half way over.  it has flown by. i can't wait for christmas break because there are two things i've been missing very much:

just no time for eating or sleeping. maybe when school gets out...

all things powell, etc.

today i ran to wal-mart to grab a few things.  i made the mistake of going to the orem location and hello incoming freshman. the store was jam-packed with the little ones and their moms. carts everywhere were overflowing with new school supplies and apartment decor. now, i've been heard to say on more than one occasion that you couldn't pay me enough to repeat that era...the new freshman, totally lost, totally confused.  moving into a new apartment, walking around campus aimlessly wondering where in the world your next class is, first sunday in a ward where you can actually pay attention because there aren't little kids screaming all around you, and trying to keep up with everyone else in the social scene staying out till all hours of the night. BUT all of the sudden i found myself missing it.  i was actually envious of the youngsters with their moms filling their carts with everything they could possibly need plus more.  i thought back to that fateful wal-mart trip with my mom and freshman roommate brittany and being so excited for a new beginning.  i'm usually not a fan of change, but lately i find myself longing for a something new, a fresh start. yet, i still have two more years in this same town, same school, and probably even same apartment. not that i'm complaining. i have countless blessings, but sometimes find myself wishing for a new adventure.

in other news...
my family took our annual vacation to to lake powell a couple weeks ago.  it was amazing, as always.
martha and paige joined us halfway through the week as well, making it all the more fantastic.

my cousin tanner left for the MTC halfway through the week.  he'll be serving an LDS mission for the next two years in ecuador and even though we missed him...and his amazing song playlists he'll be a great missionary.
what a stud.
